BRAAMFONTEIN — The Braampark Office Park in 33 Hoofd Street in Braamfontein, also the home of the South African Human Rights Commission caught fire this afternoon. Some eyewitnesses in a video DigitNews obtained claims that a part of the building that is on fire is that of a South African bank.
Although details are still sketchy at this stage, Emer-G-Med and the Johannesburg Fire Department is on the scene.

Twitter user, Kayleen Morgan (@ietskaylo), a BA Honours Journalism student at the Witwatersrand University tweeted a photo and reported that there is no casualties.

No further details are currently available as to what might have caused the fire. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the traffic on the M1 South highway in the vicinity close to Jan Smuts Avenue is backed up.
However ANN7 reports that only Hoofd Street is affected.
